There are approximately 1.5 million people with a learning disability in the U.K. (2.16% of all adults), and around 1.3 million of those with a learning disability are in England; including over 950,000 adults aged 18 or over. So, it’s no surprise that so many roles within health, social care, housing support, public services, and education require employees to have a good understanding of the signs, symptoms and support of different learning conditions; as well as knowledge of legislation and the healthcare system.
