Under the guidance of experienced faculty members, students are utilising high-fidelity CAE patient simulators to simulate real-life medical scenarios. From infant to adult cases, these simulators accurately mimic human physiology, allowing students to practice critical skills in a safe and controlled environment.

One of the highlights of their training is the use of the CAE Ares emergency-care manikin. Muscle injection sites, a realistic breathing system, and a difficult airway are just a few of the practical features packed into this high-fidelity simulator. With two-way communication between the operator and learner, students can actively engage in the learning process and refine their emergency-care skills.

Another key component of the training is the CAE Lucina simulator, which delivers an all-in-one simulation experience for maternity care. Designed to demonstrate both gravid and non-gravid scenarios, this wireless manikin allows students to practice proper prepartum, labour, delivery, and postpartum care. By interacting with lifelike patient models, students gain valuable experience in maternal health care, preparing them for real-world situations.

The training is part of the Level 3 T Levels in Health offered at London South Bank Technical College. Students enrolled in these courses, whether they're supporting adult nursing teams or midwifery teams, benefit from hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.
