It’s a 12-week personal development course, offering work experience, practical and employability skills, community projects and a residential week.

If you’re thinking of applying, why not hear from a recent Programme member, Ruby Obianke

Ruby’s story
I decided to do The Prince’s Trust team programme due to a recommendation from my doctor. At the time I was feeling lost and wasn’t sure on what to do in the future, so after reading online about the Princes Trust Team Programme, I decided to take a breather and take the course.

It was honestly one of the best decisions I made. I was able to find out a lot about myself and the path that I wanted to take.

The first two weeks was used to getting to know our fellow team members and residential where I was able to get out of my comfort zone and do things I wouldn’t normally do. Throughout the course, I learnt useful skills that I can use in the future, met different people and found out about things I didn’t know before.

Sheromie, our Team Leader was able to find me work experience at Urban MBA, a youth social enterprise charity.
I always wanted to start my own business and had an idea, but wasn’t sure on the steps I needed to take to start a business.  The work experience really helped me to understand what is needed in a business.
Some of the people that came to talk to us during the programme also gave me good advice and guidance that was valuable.

Sheromie arranged for me to continue to work with Kofi at Urban MBA over the lockdown and I am learning so much more.
I was saddened that the Team Programme was cut short because of Covid-19 but I will not regret the decision on doing the programme and I will always have good memories and I really appreciate all the support throughout the Team Programme.

Unlike before when my future was dark, I now have a shining light and a clear path that I can walk on with confidence.
All this is thanks to the Prince Trust Team programme. I hope a lot more young people get to know about it because not only is it free but it is also amazing!!
