Lambeth Made is an organisation that builds innovative partnerships with businesses to support the next generation of residents, through apprenticeships and work experience.

It was a celebratory affair for Apprentices and employers alike and the evening kicked off to a great start with guests being welcomed by the soothing sounds of a 15-piece orchestral band and a drinks and canapés reception.

The awards reception took place in the SW4 restaurant and was abuzz with employers, staff and apprentices all mingling in preparation for the oncoming ceremony.

There were over 40 award winners across different employment sectors from health and social care, construction, fitness and IT to creative arts and media and much more. Leader of Lambeth Council councillor, Jack Hopkins was there to provide the key note speech and hand out awards.

‘We’re all about Lambeth today, so we want to celebrate that, recognise that, give a pat on the back to the businesses that are making a difference to Lambeth residents.’

Employers and Apprentices were not only there to receive awards, but recognise the achievements of our students and the organisations that help them onto the career ladder.

Global Management Consultancy firm, McKinsey & Co offer our students paid six-week Summer internships. The Head of IT for the London branch commented, ‘we’ve had a really good group of professionals. We’ve actually hired a couple of students and some of the them have gone on to get other jobs with people I know.’

Here at Lambeth, we pride ourselves on being the careers college with a focus on giving our students hands-on, real world experience to give them a head start into gaining employment.

Every year, more than 500 business partners provide our students with this hands-on work experience. As well as apprenticeship opportunities, we also offer the specialist support to ensure a successful and rewarding experience for both apprentice and employer.

This year’s Apprenticeship Awards was a success evening all round and we look forward to making many more connections in 2021.
