Shadine has done brilliantly to be chosen and this great achievement is an acknowledgement of the extraordinary progress she has made on the STEM Career Ready programme as a result of her drive and commitment. Shadine attended the National Judging Day in London on Friday 28th February and has been invited to the Career Ready Awards Dinner where all award winners will be announced, on 24 March 2020 in London.

Shadine is studying Engineering and has fully capitalised on the Career Ready programme, working against all odds to organise her life as a teen Mum living in a mother and baby unit. She had a hugely successful 6 weeks paid internship at BP during which she grew her confidence, committed to a Civil Engineering career, started her quest for an engineering apprenticeship and joined the Croydon Women in Construction programme.

Shadine’s first love of Civil Engineering was from her Dad. Now she wants to be an Engineer as there are so few women in the industry and feels strongly that she can bring about change and inspire other young women to make the same choice.

We have great pleasure of this truly inspirational and deeply impressive young woman representing us and we wish her all the best.
