Lambeth College has opened its brand new Brixton Centre which is situated in a prime position on Brixton Hill with easy access for learners.
The centre is already busy with local learners and we are delighted that Chuka Umunna, MP for Streatham officially opened the Centre on Thursday 9 November, where he met, and received a very warm welcome from staff and students.
Lambeth College were provided with the shell and core of the 2,000 m2 building in June 2017 which was built by Bowmer & Kirkland as part of a project with the Department for Education which has also funded the development of the London South Bank University UTC and Trinity Free School.
The College has worked closely with the DfE and the Bowmer & Kirkland team to enable the regeneration of this key site on Brixton Hill. Leading UK construction, refurbishment and fit out contractor, Gilbert-Ash, in partnership with project managers and client advisors, Peter Marsh Consulting, were responsible for the delivery of the £2.5m project for Lambeth College’s Brixton Campus in London.
“The Learners at Brixton enjoy excellent facilities with extensive IT facilities, and a well equipped kitchen which serves a lovely cafeteria.
The centre also benefits from airy classrooms and friendly and welcoming reception staff.” Monica Box, Interim Principal and CEO.
Course available at the Brixton Centre include:
English for Other Languages (ESOL) and the Young Peoples’ Enterprise Programme (YPE). All enquiries are welcome.
