The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (AAT) is an advanced qualification which covers a range of essential and higher-level accounting techniques and disciplines. You'll learn and develop skills needed for a range of financial processes, including maintaining cost accounting records, advanced bookkeeping, and the preparation of financial reports and returns. This course is perfectly suited to those who are looking to upskill for their existing role, expand their knowledge and skills for career advancement, or are looking to progress to further qualifications and Higher Education.

The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (AAT) is a part-time course that takes approximately 9 months to complete, and focusses on the specific knowledge and skills you'll need to advance your career in accountancy and finance. You'll gain in-depth knowledge and accountancy skills in four core areas: Business Awareness, Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements, Management Accounting Techniques, and Tax Processes for Business.

What’s more – as it’s certificated by AAT (the Association of Accounting Technicians) – upon successful completion of the course, you’ll not only receive a nationally-recognised qualification – desired and respected by employers in all industries – but you’ll also qualify for AAT bookkeeping membership (AATQB).

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING TECHNIQUES

  • What do you need to apply?

    5 GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade C or 4 or above (including English and Maths) or Equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification or Relevant industry experience in a business/accounting profession

  • How will you be assessed?

    This course is assessed through four (one for each core module) computer-based exams and a synoptic assessment; which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

  • Where can this course take you?

    On successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (AAT), you could directly enter employment in an accounting role such as Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, or Bookkeeper.

    You will also be eligible for AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB) status; giving you the option to work as a freelance bookkeeper.

    Alternatively, you could choose to further develop your knowledge and skills by advancing to a higher-level qualification or degree apprenticeship, or a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance undergraduate degree with LSBU.
