The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology is an advanced, technical course designed to develop your in-depth knowledge and understanding of the processes, technology, and multi-channel skills that underpin all aspects of creative media production.

Through practical learning and real-world immersive study you will gain experience of audio and visual technology; pre-production, production, and post-production processes; interactive, creative and digital media methods, and learn the skills required to express your creative ideas to the world.

At London South Bank Technical College you will experience the Creative Media sector by using industry standard equipment and facilities in our newly designed, modern work-place style studios and virtual reality suite. The course emphasis is on developing a comprehensive understanding of sophisticated digital technologies within Creative Media disciplines and applying your newly acquired knowledge and skills by working on live briefs from employers, giving you first-hand industry experience. You will also undertake industry related enrichment visits and experiences to enhance your learning experience.

More than just developing your technical skills, you will also gain a deeper knowledge of the theories and principles of creative media production and increase your understanding of the media industry.

You will also have the opportunity to tailor your learning and specialise in a particular area of Creative Media Production. These can include:

  • Animation
  • Special Effects & Make-up

  • What do you need to apply?

    5 GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade A*-C or 9-4 (including GCSE maths and English)

    or

    Equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification

    You will also have a review of your portfolio and ideally show some moderate success in the subject area

  • How will you be assessed?

    You will be assessed by a combination of assignments, course work, observation of practical workshops, online and written exams, and a final project.

  • Where can this course take you?

    This course can lead to employment in a number of creative media production and technology roles or can provide a direct route to Higher Education.

    Careers open to you could include camera person, film editor, director, director of photography, producer, SFX technician, VFX technician, film crew, radio technician, radio producer, animator, and digital publishing.

    After successfully passing the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, you may wish to consider progressing to Higher Education, with one of London South Bank University's degree courses (additional qualifications may be required).
