In the bustling city of London, amidst its diverse and dynamic streets, Sara found herself embarking on a journey far from her war-torn homeland of Sudan. Her aspirations were high, fueled by the desire to pursue higher education and carve out a brighter future for herself.
In September 2023, Sara took her first step towards this goal by enrolling in our IELTS course at South Bank Colleges (SBC). Little did she know, this decision would be life-changing in shaping her path forward.
"South Bank Colleges was my best choice, where I did the IELTS preparation course," Sara recalls, reflecting on her journey. "When I joined the course, I was totally empty-minded about the IELTS, but when I finished the course, I was ready to take the test. The teaching style, the practicing techniques, the lovely, diverse classmates, the supportive teacher—everything was amazing and enjoyable."
As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, Sara's dedication to her studies remained unwavering. She immersed herself in the curriculum, guided by knowledgeable instructors and supported by classmates from all walks of life. Each lesson brought new challenges and triumphs, paving the way for Sara's success.
"And at the end of my journey, I had the test and got a score of 7, which is higher than what I need to apply for the university," Sara shares, her voice tinged with pride. "A lovely journey that I encourage everyone to do."
With a score of Grade 7 in hand, Sara surpassed the threshold required for admission to university, securing her place as a Business student at London Metropolitan University. The joy she felt upon receiving this news was clear, a testament to the resilience and perseverance that had carried her through every trial and tribulation.
