ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

An ESOL course is for you if English is not your first language and you want to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. English and maths as part of a 16-19 Study Programme

When you join a Study Programme at Lambeth College, you will not only be able to gain a valuable qualification in your chosen vocational subject, but also be able to develop your English and maths skills. These subjects will be developed through Functional Skills or GCSE qualifications, depending on previous qualifications and individual needs.

Any learner who joins us specifically with a "3" or a "D" will be required to re-take the GCSE qualification. Learners with less than a grade 3 will be required to complete Maths & English Functional Skills qualifications (Entry to L2 for English and Entry, Level 1 and GCSE for maths).

English and maths for adults

Do you want to improve your English and maths to enhance your career and further studies prospects? If so, our English and maths courses are for you.

Lambeth college offers part-time (day, evening and Saturday) English and maths from entry level to GCSE.

Adults can study English and/or maths alongside their vocational course or as a stand-alone subject.

An assessment when you first apply or come to enroll will ensure you are placed on the right level of course for you.
