Have you ever dreamed of becoming personal trainer? If so Lambeth College's sport department is your next destination to fulfil your professional goals. Once accepted onto our industry specific programmes you will embark on a journey to become a personal trainer, and prepare for roles such as PE teachers and Physiotherapist. With us you will gain industry recognised fitness qualifications, have to opportunity to gain experience and work in the fitness industry. You will also develop your interview and study skills, enjoy experiences working with the likes of Sky Sports, Paralympians and visits the Emirates Stadium. You will study units including nutrition, anatomy and physiology and fitness training as well learn a number of practical sports. On completion of this course you can progress to starting work in the fitness industry or head to university.

Entry Criteria

Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
5 GCSE qualifications at grade A*- C or 9 - 4 including English and /or maths, or equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at merit or above (or pass if equivalent level 2 vocational qualification if pass or fail only).
Other requirements:
This course will prepare for a career in the coaching industry or progression to university. Industry experience and a passion for sport is considered along side your maths and English competence

Career Opportunities

We have a fitness company working in the college that can provide experience and mentorship for your personal training career. We also have a number of links, with learners take advantage of to start employment as personal trainers and fitness instructors.

    Study Pathways

    Following the successful completion of this course you are ready for a career in the fitness industry as a personal trainer/fitness instructor through the BTEC programme and Active IQ personal training qualifications. There is also the option to progress to university should you want to continue your studies.
