The Level 2 Pre-Access Diploma in Science is designed for mature learners (19+) who want to gain industry knowledge, and transferable study skills, in order to progress on to Level 3 qualifications including Access to Higher Education Diplomas in science-related subjects.

On this course you will experience a mix of theoretical study in the principles and practices of science, and hands-on practical experiments at our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. You will develop knowledge in fascinating and varied topics.

More than just increasing your industry-specific knowledge and skills, this course will also prepare you for further study at a higher level, by teaching you study skills and research techniques; information technology applications; improved English skills; and applying mathematics to scientific study.

What do you need to apply?

• 2 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-D or 9-3, including English Language
• Level 1 vocational qualification and a Level 1 English qualification
• Or proven industry experience.

Additional information: You will have an initial assessment in maths and English This course is for mature learners over the age of 19

How will you be assessed?

You will be assessed by a combination of practical assignments and course work.
