This course is design for all who wish to progress to careers in science. This is year one out of two years course. All lessons take place in well equipped science laboratories and thought by specialist teachers. There are 9 units that cover topics in biology, chemistry, maths and physics at Level 3. Learners are assess based on the course work and in some units timed constrain assessment. All units contain practical work therefore students will be able to enhance their practical skills as well as understanding of the theory behind it. There may be opportunity to study GCSE English and maths alongside this course for those with Functional skills qualification. There will be opportunities to gain work experience or apprenticeship.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
5 GCSE qualifications at grade A*- C or 9 - 4 including English and /or maths, or equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at merit or above (or pass if equivalent level 2 vocational qualification if pass or fail only).
Candidates should have 4 GCSE at minimum grade C (new GCSE : 4/5) in English, maths, science and any other subjects.

After completing this course you will have the opportunity to progress to Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma or Foundation degrees. Additionally, our students may find work in a health care sector, pharmacy shops as assistants or other science related fields.
