The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science is an advanced, technical qualification that can provide you with a direct route to Higher Education and degree-level study. Whether your ambitions lie in biology, chemistry, or physics; in applied, forensic, or medical science; or even in engineering, sport, food and nutrition, or health and social care; this course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to help you achieve your future study and career goals.
Based at our state-of-the-art laboratories; you will get to perform real experiments and hands-on assignments, using industry-standard equipment, and be taught how to analyse your results. Through a combination of compulsory and optional modules, you will receive a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of science and scientific investigations, develop a range of essential skills and techniques, and learn about what life working the science industry is really like.
This course allows you to then tailor your modules to the scientific area that most interests you, with study options that include mathematical tools and calculations, biology, chemistry, physics and research in general scientific knowledge.

This course could lead to employment in a variety of science-related industries including biomedical science, nursing, health and social care, pharmaceuticals, food and nutrition, environmental science, and engineering; or give you the opportunity to progress to Higher Education.
