You'll be taught the skills required to prepare showstopping delicious cocktails, and learn the secrets of perfect customer service, how to set up and clean down a bar, and just what all those bar utensils are used for.
So, whether you're already working as a bartender, looking to get your first job behind the bar, or just want to improve your knowledge and skills, this six-week course could be the one for you.
This is a part-time course with multiple start dates, with one college-based class a week, so it can be fitted around your existing work, study, or family commitments.
What modules will you do?
You will study a number of interesting and exciting topics such as:
- The use and cleaning of equipment
- How to prepare the bar for service
- Cocktail-making techniques
- Cocktail recipes
- Responsible serving of alcohol
What do you need to apply?
- 2 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-D or 9-3, including English Language
- Level 1 vocational qualification and a Level 1 English qualification
Additional Information: You must be of legal drinking age in the UK (18 years old or over) to take part in any alcohol tasting on this course.
How will you be assessed?
You'll be assessed using a practical assignment where you'll demonstrate your ability to prepare and serve drinks. You'll also complete a short answer test covering the background knowledge essential to bartending.
