This course is aimed at giving you the basic knowledge and understanding that is essential to working in any Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Setting. It gives you understanding of a range of essential areas such as equality and inclusion, communication, values and principles and person-centred approach.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
2 GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade D-G or 3-1, or entry level vocational qualification,
English and Maths initial assessment.

The course does not qualify you to work with children, young people and adults but supports you to the next step in training towards working in the sector.
Awarding body, assessment method and more
You may be able to progress to the BTEC L2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (16-18) or the L2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (Adults).
