This Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media practices in the field of journalism and reporting. This could include broadcast for TV and radio, web-based reporting, logging and blogging, social media reporting and interview format. Learners will be expected to conduct theoretical as well as practical exploration and assignment work modelled after real-world employment. Learners are expected to set-up and maintain news and features broadcast on web, radio and print throughout the run of the course. Whilst developing creative media skills learners will also gain professional standards, knowledge of the expectations of the industry, conceptual understanding of the uses of creative media and the ability to apply media practice to communicate with and inform audiences.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
5 GCSE qualifications at grade A*- C or 9 - 4 including English and /or maths, or equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at merit or above (or pass if equivalent level 2 vocational qualification if pass or fail only).
Preferable English & Maths at Grade C or above,
L2 in related subject area or 5 GCSEs at C or better,
Review of portfolio, ideally showing some attempts with moderate success in the subject area.
