The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design, Photography provides learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to the higher education or into employment. Learners will advance their abilities to capture and express ideas and forms through cameras and image construction, focussing on originality of idea, conceptual imagery and experimental photography. Specific skills in lens manipulation, advanced studio set-ups and lighting, location photography, and experimental analogue and darkroom practices form the core of work; they will additionally gain understanding of abstract imagery, alternative photographic processes and advanced digital image capture, edit and manipulation.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
5 GCSE qualifications at grade A*- C or 9 - 4 including English and /or maths, or equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at merit or above (or pass if equivalent level 2 vocational qualification if pass or fail only).
Preferable English & Maths at Grade C or above,
Successful completion of Year 1 related subject area,
Portfolio with a range of attempts in the subject area should be available at interview.
