The Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design, Photography provides students with the opportunity to explore the materials, methods and processes that support art and design activities within the world of photography. Learners will explore techniques, media and different applications of photography, grounding their abilities to capture and express ideas and forms through cameras and image construction. They will specifically develop skills in camera capture, studio set-up and lighting, location photography, analogue and darkroom practices and digital manipulation; they will additionally explore the photography industry, learning what potential lies within this pathway and what they must do to prepare for that future.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
4 GCSE qualifications at or above grade D or 3, or equivalent level 1 vocational qualification.
Successful completion of at least 2-4 GCSEs at C or better,
Ideally have Maths and English achieved at entry level or, preferably, L1,
Review of portfolio, ideally showing some attempts with moderate success in the subject area.
