The Level 3 Diploma and the Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts provide the opportunity for students with an interest in the Performing Arts to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating and demanding. Learners will be taught how to use their body, voice and elements of design/technology to engage with, entertain and inform audiences. Learners will gain skills in the use of voice and vocal manipulation, dance & movement, physical theatre and mime, text and dialogue, mask design and use, design for performance (including sets, costumes, make-up, lights and sound) and technical management. Learners will be prepared for the real-world of auditions and interviews and might move on into careers in modelling, dance, acting, screen performance or broadcast presentation.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.
For some of the programmes we offer you will require:
5 GCSE qualifications at grade A*- C or 9 - 4 including English and /or maths, or equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at merit or above (or pass if equivalent level 2 vocational qualification if pass or fail only).
Preferable English & Maths at Grade C or above,
L2 in related subject area or 5 GCSEs at C or better,
Review of portfolio, ideally showing some attempts with moderate success in the subject area.
