Is this the course for you?
Graphic design is all around us; it is everywhere we go and in everything we see. You will find it in advertising, books, posters, album covers, packaging, marketing materials, film and television titles, and anything else that requires a message, an idea or an emotion to be conveyed with words, images, or a combination of both. Put simply, graphic design is about visual communication. By studying our Level 3 Diploma in Graphic Design, you will gain a broad understanding of the individual elements of graphic design. You will learn about visual research techniques, lettering and typography, on-screen and print layouts, digital design and image manipulation, and you will develop the knowledge and skills to create visual content that really stands out. This course will encourage you to test your creativity, explore the subject in the broadest sense, be experimental and take risks, and learn how to solve problems through the creation of elegant and workable solutions to design briefs. Much more than just developing your practical and creative design skills, you will also learn about the theory and technology behind graphic design. You will explore the work of other artists and designers; gain an understanding of how technology has shaped the industry; learn how to research, develop, and present your ideas; and, ultimately, produce a sophisticated portfolio of work, ready for further study or employment.
