This course provides students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for carrying out basic plumbing installation and maintenance tasks.
- successful students can progress onto a full NVQ 2 which will require a work place arrangement to carry out on site assessment;
- successful students can progress onto the Level 3 technical certificate or the full L3 NVQ.
This is a one year, full time course which also incorporates functional skills for any learner without a previous level two in English and maths.
As a city and guilds requirement all candidates will be required to pass a variety of practical assessments as set out in the city and guilds portfolio, these will be assessed to city and guilds guidelines and completed within a set time schedule.
All candidates are also required to pass nine online exams with a pass mark of 70%, merit 80% or distinction 90%.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment.

4 GCSE qualifications at or above grade D or 3, or equivalent level 1 vocational qualification.
