This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the world of business and encourages you to reflect on your own experience as a customer of familiar businesses. By the end of the course, you will appreciate the conflicting expectations of key stakeholders within and outside organisations and how these expectations influence the setting of business strategic aims and objectives. You will explore how these strategic aims and objectives are achieved through the work of functional areas within organisations. You will also learn that businesses operate in uncertain and dynamic environments and as such need to understand the range of external factors or forces that impact on businesses continuously and that will influence the achievement of their aims and objectives. You will develop skills in developing a marketing campaign, personal and business finance, event management, market research and have the opportunity to undertake a work experience placement as part of this course.
Our minimum entry criteria may be altered at any stage up to and including enrolment. All offers are subject to a successful interview and completion of an initial and diagnostic assessment. For some of the programmes we offer you will require: 5 GCSE qualifications at grade A* - C or 9 - 4 including English and /or maths, or equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at merit or above (or pass if equivalent level 2 vocational qualification if pass or fail only).

Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress onto the L3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Business, or an apprenticeship programme, or into employment.
