Is this the course for you?

Is it time for you to progress to a more senior level, with more direct reports and responsibilities? If so, this Level 3 Team Leader or Supervisor Apprenticeship is for you.

You'll learn how to effectively manage a team, project, budget and more, to successfully deliver a clearly defined outcome. You'll also learn how to support, manage and develop team workers, manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources, deliver operational plans, resolve problems, and build relationships both internally and externally.

This apprenticeship will prepare you whether you're looking at management roles in the private, public, or third sector.

  • What makes an effective leader?
  • How to manage people
  • How to communicate within and outside of your team
  • Organisational strategy and operational management
  • Project life cycle, roles, and management
  • Financial compliance, and how to deliver value for money
  • Self-management including time management, problem solving, and understanding unconscious bias

What do you need to apply?

Entry requirements are set by each individual employer, but it is likely you will need 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above. If you haven't got a Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent), you will need to have undertaken this by the end of the apprenticeship.

How will you be assessed?

  • Assessment method 1: Presentation with questions and answers
  • Assessment method 2: Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

Where can this course take you?

After you have successfully completed this apprenticeship, you may choose register as an Associate Member of the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management to support your further career development.

Typical job titles from this apprenticeship include supervisor, team leader, project officer, shift supervisor, foreperson, and shift manager.
