This week, Health and Wellbeing ran an LGBTQ+ awareness ‘myth buster’ session alongside a practical physical activity for all.
Sports students, of all abilities, took part in AcroYoga this week. Students from a variety of sports backgrounds engaged in the pursuit at a level of their choice whilst also maintaining integrity of the activity. They positively said goodbye to their comfort zones and raised their expectations by physically lifting others.
Being welcoming and inclusive is a strong feature of many successful organisations. Inclusivity in sport is important and we ensure that our college is welcoming to everyone, regardless of race, age, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
A strong network of LGBTQ+ sports clubs exist across England, many of whom have a long and successful history of localised provision in a range of team and individual sports. LGBTQ+ sports clubs may be key in providing access to physical activity to members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Lambeth College want to extend a big thank you to all that supported and were involved in this event.
