It’s been a busy week for The Apprenticeships team who have worked hard to secure some highly sought after employers for this year’s Apprenticeship Fair. There were representatives from the British Army Reserves, K10, Lambeth College, Little Forest Folk, LSBU, NHS- St George’s, St Giles Trust, The Skills Centre, Wandsworth Work Match and Wilmott Dixon.
Our star Apprentice Manager, Uzma, was on call delivering talks in the main Hub for potential Apprentices, alongside her team also providing advice and guidance on all things apprenticeship.
Our actual Apprenticeship programmes were still in full force alongside Apprenticeship Week with some of our students keen to take part. Our very own Painting and Decorating Apprentices, Sam and Charlie have been very vocal on how much the programme has done for them.
'We have found working on site really good, as we have hands on training which is fast pace. We really are enjoying learning new skills like caulking, which has so much more to it than you think. We would really like to take our skills straight into the workplace.'
Lambeth are currently running programmes in painting and decorating, plumbing, electrical installation, childcare and business administration, with new opportunities opening up all the time, as more and more young people seek alternative study options. A representative from building contractors, Willmott Dixon Interiors commented, ‘Apprentices get the work experience and the education at the same time whilst being paid a salary.’
So for all those budding Apprentices out there, check out what Lambeth College can offer you. What’s more, you’ll even earn a wage while you learn. To find out more visithttps://www.lambethcollege.ac.uk/apprenticeships
