Our Arts and Media students took part in a Live Performance Art piece, which encouraged interaction from onlookers and fellow students around the College.

One art piece involved two students walking around the College, one dressed in a white, pointy hooded dress leading another student by chains, dressed in a black mask, both covered in blood splatter. This had quite an alarming and intriguing affect, as people looked on in slight confusion and disbelief, which encouraged them to ask questions and discuss.

All of the art pieces gave food for thought. One student sat in a sombrely lit room next to a rope and noose, provoking a discussion on mental health. Interested onlookers were able to sit with her and discuss the piece and the topic as a whole.

A deaf student, Maria Dugo, wanted to showcase her world through a series of black and white charcoal drawings of the human ear, sounds made by the ear and hands that Deaf people use to communicate sound.

All the students that took part created pieces that were personal to them and wanted to bring attention to particular causes through, perhaps to some, provocative live performances and it sure did create a buzz around the college. This is just one of the ways the Creative Arts department try and get their students to think out of the box and get people talking.
