Level 3 Sport Coaching Learners were given a taster day as part of the college's initiative to make January an un-missable event. The learners were given insight into leadership, communications and roles within the army while being assessed on their coaching course.

Darren Morgan, Programme Leader, said, 'The learners had a fantastic day and it really helped enhance the learners career ready standards. They look forward to going on their residential trip in the near future and they are using the experience towards their Duke of Edinburgh award.

Brandon Matthews, Level 3 Sports Science student, said, 'It was interesting to learn that the Army sponsor athletes to pursue their goals in professional sports like Judo, skiing to name but a few. The current Bath Rugby Union player 'Semesa Rokodguni' came through the ranks playing rugby in the Army and also 'Heather Stanning' (Double Olympic champion at Rowing) is a serving 'Royal Artillery officer'.
