They envisage an integrated Information Literacy, Digital Literacy and Academic Skills support offer that extends and reflects the LSBU support model forming part of the integrated Information Literacy Framework and the Digital Skills Framework.

The service will be delivered predominantly by our LRC staff supported by the LSBU Information Skills team, the Digital Skills training team and the Academic Liaison librarians and will be expanding to include further academic skills content in the new year to cover areas such as notetaking and time management skills.

The student service will offer embedded core skills across the year and, where identified, additional training. This will be based on subject specificity as identified and agreed for each faculty following close collaboration with the heads of faculty and considering relevant assessment criteria. Support will be offered in the form of both synchronous and asynchronous teaching, incorporating face to face training sessions and workshops, remote teaching, online resources and additional individual support.

The student support model will begin with induction, transition to ongoing support for the duration of the course and conclude with a transition session preparing students for their next step either to another FE course, into HE or to move on in the workplace.
