What apprenticeship programme did you join and why?

I joined the L2 Painting & Decorating apprenticeship because I studied this course before, totally fell in love with the trade and it was the final step to strengthen my knowledge in the subject. Without this apprenticeship I wouldn't have got to where I am now.

What did you enjoy the most on the apprenticeship programme?

I enjoyed a lot of things on this programme. The assessor was very knowledgable, you could ask him anything and he would know the answer to it straight away.  The experience has been one to remember. I have made great friends, I have bonded with my tutor, but most of all, I'll remember Lambeth College to be the place I learned a trade that I've always been passionate about.

Now you’ve completed an apprenticeship, what do you want to do next?

Well, I've been offered a job as a painting and decorator and I start this Monday. I am quite excited because I've been in this practice for so long, it's good to just throw my self out of my comfort zone.

What are your future aspirations in terms of your career and life?

Within the next 5 years I want to start my own Painting and Decorating company.

What was special about your time at Lambeth College?

This place has been really special to me. The college is based in a great location, the teachers are great and very supportive.

Any words of advice to students on an apprentice programme or thinking to join one?

If you're thinking to join an apprenticeship programme, just go ahead with it, do it. Once you join the course, the knowledge you gain from it will be invaluable and you'll be able to use it in your working life.
