We always ensure the work placements assigned are in an area that relates to our students course and matches their career aspirations.

Richard's journey started when his friend asked him to work at a bar! After realising this is the industry he wants to be in, he decided to do an apprenticeship where he studied while gaining experience.

Quick sidenote: If you're interested in doing an apprenticeship with us... one similar to Richard's, we have a Commis Chef apprenticeship programme that you can join. If you need any information, please visit this page).

The VWEx session ended with a Q&A! Shasta from MPeople Education asked Richard "who is the most famous person you met on duty". To everyone's surpise, Richard met not one, but THREE James Bond actors - Sir Roger Moore, Sir Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton! Did we mention this was all in one night?

Amal Ali, our Employer Account Officer asked "what's the best advice you can give to the students to help plan a successful career than simply work to keep a job?". Richard advised all students to gain experience, even if it's while you're studying.

As a full-time student at Lambeth College, you’ll be required to undertake a work experience placement as part of your course. No matter what career path you choose to take, there's a huge amount of careers information available to you, but there's nothing as eye-opening, informative, and inspiring as actually working alongside someone who is already doing the job.
