A Levels
An incredible choice of subjects available from Accounting to Psychology and Media Studies through to Maths and English at GCSE, A or AS level. Our caring and dedicated tutors are here to support, motivate and mentor to help you to achieve your full potential.
Art and Design
The college has a well-equipped art studio and tutors with diverse specialisms and expertise to pass on to you. You will have the opportunity to work in a huge range of media from computer aided design and photography through to drawing and painting, 2-D and Graphic Design. Courses include BTEC Entry Certificate, Introductory and National Diplomas.
Media
You can have a hands-on learning experience in our well-equipped studios, mixing rooms and software suites. There are courses available in Media, Journalism, Media Production, Video, Photography and Digital Publishing, Web Design and Animation. This could be your springboard to an exciting media career.
Performing Arts
As well as the valuable practical experience of creating productions with fellow students and tutors you will receive a good grounding in the theoretical background of your subject. Elements include dance, scripted plays and performing music. A new 160-seat theatre at our Clapham centre opens in Sptember 2009. A Performing Arts qualification at Lambeth will give you the edge in this competitive field.
Basic Education
The department offers a multitude of courses and schemes for your personal or professional development, including the Prince’s Trust Programme, Skills Challenge, community projects, work placements and presentation skills. The department could be your gateway to work or to further education.
Building and Construction
You can study for CSKILLS, NVQ and City and Guilds qualifications in Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plastering and Plumbing.
We have one of the biggest college workshop facilities in the country. We also have workshops based at Battersea Power Station to give you real experience of work in the construction industry.
Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Looking for a career in engineering, electrical installation or electronics? Then you’ve come to the right department! We can help you to achieve BTEC and C&G qualifications in all these subjects. Our courses combine hands-on training with the theoretical knowledge you will need to progress your career in this field.
Motorcycle Maintenance
The department offers IMI qualifications in Motorcycle / Scooter Repair and Maintenance. Our well equipped purpose-built workshop based in our Vauxhall Centre is the perfect environment for hands-on learning.
Business and Administration
This department will move into our new Clapham Centre in Sptember 2009. We have strong links with employers and we are a member of Career Academies UK, providing placements and real-life projects to enable you to put your newly learned skills into practice.
Computing and IT
Understand how computers work, what you can use them for, and their applications and leave your course with a recognised qualification to help you on the next rung of your academic or professional career.
Science
The department offers Applied Science at Levels 1 and 2. Do you want to become a healthcare professional? After one of our courses you will have the qualifications and experience to launch your career or progress your education further still.
Child Care and Education
We offer CACHE and C&G qualifications in all areas of child care which will enable you to pursue a career working with children. Courses cover areas such as human growth and development, play and practical activities as well as food and nutrition. All of our Diploma courses combine with work experience to give you practical training.
Health and Social Care
For those who want to work in a caring environment, Lambeth College offers a vast array of opportunities. Courses combine the practical and theoretical leading to qualifications OCR National Certificate, Levels 1 – 3 or a BTEC Entry Certificate.
Hair & Beauty
We offer courses in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy (practice and theory) at our Splendid Touch Salon at Vauxhall. This is a fully functioning salon located within the College grounds. So, after some initial training you’ll be able to get your hands on real clients! In addition to the formal C&G NVQ qualifications you can attain, you’ll have real life experience to offer potential employers upon completion of your course.
Sport
Does a career in Sport and Recreation sound like a dream come true? It could be a reality after taking one of our BTEC qualifications in Sport.
You will learn about health, safety and injury, the sports industry as well as practical sports, sport physiology and psychology. Frequent visits from sporting professionals and organisations will keep you in touch with the applications for your course in the outside world.
Leisure and Tourism
The department offers OCR Level 1 National Certificate in Leisure and Tourism and Level 2 in Travel and Tourism. You can learn about visitor destinations and attractions, promotion for travel and tourism and how to look after customers. A course in Leisure and Tourism at Lambeth could be your passport to success!
