Student Eddie Partridge-Naudeer came to Lambeth College because of its great reputation for A Levels.
Sixth Form students at Lambeth College have been celebrating after opening their A Level results today. With an increase in passes in almost all A levels from last year and a significant increase in the number of passes at high grades, the College has plenty to celebrate.
Over 700 students sat their A2 and AS Levels at Lambeth College this year and passes at higher grades, (A*, A and B) have increased significantly from 18% to 30%.
There was a significant improvement in pass rates in overall grades at A2 Level with the pass rate up 4% to 94%, which means that students will have a greater chance of getting into university.
There were 100% pass rates in Business, English Literature, Government and Politics, Mathematics, Media Studies and Sociology and passes over 90% in Biology, Economics, Physics and Psychology.
At AS level, there were 518 students who achieved 100% pass rate in Drama and Theatre Studies, French and Spanish.
This is the second year that students have graduated from the College’s Sixth Form Centre, which opened in 2009, and we are delighted with this excellent result.
Lambeth College’s Principal Richard Chambers said: “Our results show that even in the toughest educational and economic climate, our College and the students who come here continually rise to the challenges facing them.
We are delighted that our overall grades continue to improve and are very proud of the individual achievement of all our students. The significant improvement in our higher grade passes reflects the dedication of our students to invest in their future.
These excellent results are a tribute not only to our students but also to the families, tutors and support teams who provide them with continual help and support.
We are delighted that so many of our A level students will now be going on to University and that the financial support available at the College, (including reduced fees on many courses and the Young Students’ Support Grant), will enable the next generation of students to aspire to higher education. For those students still considering their options, the College can also offer new opportunities including Apprenticeships and BTEC Extended Diplomas.”
