The Great Brixton Bake-Off

Calling all bakers, cake lovers and Brixton enthusiasts! Lambeth College are competing in the first ever ‘Great Brixton Bake-Off’ this Saturday 28 April in Brixton Market, Station Road.
Lambeth College tutor, Frank Innes and 6 of his best students on the Skills for Work (Health Gourmet Café) course, are competing against some of the finest bakers and cake makers of Brixton and if anyone’s ever eaten in Brixton before you’ll know that this is a big challenge!
Frank, however is confident of victory and has been developing recipes for his treats which can only be described as chocolatey and delicious. As it’s a competition we have been sworn to secrecy…all will be revealed on the day!
The organisers in Brixton Market said: “Our aim is for the market to establish increased community involvement and feature the high quality goods and services local traders and small businesses provide”.
The College is more than excited about taking part in such a fabulous community event and what better way to get involved than in one of the most popular markets in London with cakes and treats! Yum!
Cakes, biscuits, pies and bread available for trial and sale from 10 am - 5 pm, with the winning treats announced at 1pm! For more information about the market see the Facebook Page.
