Lambeth College has a long history and a fantastic reputation in creative arts, graphic design, media (which includes multimedia and web design), moving image, radio broadcasting, sound recording and performing arts. We have had a lot of success in training many young people and adult students to a high standard and have helped them progress to higher education or into employment.
On these pages you will find recent examples of student’s work in a whole variety of disciplines and using industry standard facilities and techniques. You will also see we have included a number of student profiles and testimonials.
Lambeth College has well equipped art and media studios at its Vauxhall Centre where courses are geared to adult students and brand new performing arts theatre, dance studio, art rooms and a 3D workshop in the Sixth Form building (for younger students) at its Clapham Centre. These great facilities come complete with tutors and technical staff who can offer you a diverse range of specialisms and expertise.
In our Art and Design courses you will have the opportunity to study a huge range of subjects from computer-aided-design and photography through to painting and drawing, 2D and graphic design and model making.
Media and Broadcasting based courses give you the opportunity to develop your skills in the area of video production, audio electronics and sound studio skills.
Radio Broadcasting covers the practical and theoretical skills required to work in the radio industry in a number of different specialisms from technician to presenter. We also offer a very successful NCTJ Pre-entry Newspaper Journalism course at our Clapham Centre. Many of our journalism students have gone on to secure jobs with local and national newspapers as well as in the broadcast media.
Our Performing Arts courses bring you the opportunity to develop your skills in acting, singing and dancing as well as broadening your knowledge of devising plays and performing to an audience.
All of our courses are hands-on and require you to show commitment and enthusiasm for the subject(s) you chose. The arts, media and entertainment industries are very competitive and you will need to be able to work alone or as part of a team on some very challenging projects and assignments.
