Lambeth College was proud to support local businesses at the Lambeth Business Awards in February. The College’s Skills For Business unit sponsored two of the award categories at the glittering ‘oscar night’ ceremony held at the Brit Oval in February.

Hosting the awards, BBC business journalist Declan Curry stressed the importance of celebrating success. “It’s important to pay tribute to the best in business. It’s never been more important than now to be good in business.” He told the audience.

Chair of Governors Dame Lorna Boreland Kelly presented the Best Young Entrepreneur Award to Claire Morton of Alchemy Events and the Best Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism Business award to Schmidts of Clapham.

“It gives us great pleasure to sponsor these Awards and congratulations to all the winners here tonight, “she said. “At Lambeth College, we pride ourselves on providing a safe and supportive learning environment where our students gain the skills they need to be the employees and the employers of the future.  Our commitment to enterprise and entrepreneurship and our thriving relationships with a wide range of local employers means that there is a strong business ethos within the college.”
