There was more excitement in the air at Lambeth College this August as GCSE students celebrated their results.

ANGELINA & CHING_webFor many of our students, Lambeth College has offered them a second chance to gain the valuable qualifications needed to help them in their future careers. 18 year old Angelina Palin from Brixton is a typical example. After what she calls “not a great start at school”, Angelina decided to come to Lambeth College to take her GCSEs. “It’s been brilliant at Lambeth College, she says. “I’m really happy here and made lots of friends.”  Angelina who lives in Brixton is now going on to do A Levels in Media, Critical Thinking and Sociology at the College and would really love a job in the media.

KODI DOUGLAS_web_1It was the same story for 17 year old Kodi Douglas from Vauxhall.  “I didn’t do very well at school, so to start again I came to Lambeth as I’d heard it was a good college,” says Kodi.  “I’ve had a much better experience at Lambeth College as the teachers here are very supportive.” Kodi was delighted to achieve five good GCSEs and now wants to do A Levels in Law, Media and Sociology to prepare her for a career in the media

Whilst studying for his GCSE, Ching has also been also working as a video editor, gaining valuable industry experience for his chosen career.  Sadiq Mudasiru from Bermondsey, who is also 21 years old, was delighted to achieve the good mark he needed in his English GCSE to take a Chemical Engineering degree at Sheffield University. Sadiq, who came from Nigeria when he was 17 to study, also gained a BTEC National Diploma in Applied Science at Lambeth College this year.
