Going All Red

Skipping lessons: Students Marty Game and Anthony Salmon accompany their tutor Maxine Wilkie (centre) as she attempts to skip for three minutes at our Brixton Centre.
March 2007
‘Lambeth College goes red’ was the theme on Friday 16 March when our staff and students showed their support for Comic Relief by wearing funky red outfits and attempting to skip with ropes for three long minutes. Those who took part made a donation of £1 a time and received their red nose and skipping rope.
The event was organised by Dionne Konstantinious from the Brixton Centre Student Performance team. She said: “It was great to see so many students enjoying themselves skipping. Although the average time skipped was just over a minute, it is very difficult and requires a lot of energy. In the end we raised £176 for charity and helped to raise awareness of the issues that Comic Relief deals with.”
