Going Live: Olga Zola presents her first music show on Vox Radio.
The College radio station VOX RADIO was launched for its second year of broadcasting this month. The station began broadcasting at 9.00 am on Wednesday 8 November and is the continuation of a very ambitious project by the students on our Radio: C&G Diploma in Advanced Media Techniques course at the College’s Vauxhall Centre. Listeners can connect to the broadcast every Wednesday via the College Intranet.
The innovative project was a huge success last year and was hailed by many staff and students of the College as being professional and engaging.
The station’s aim is to keep the College’s students and staff informed on educational issues, news and events, hot topics, debates and other items of interest, as well as playing great music.
Tutor Annabel Pearcey said: ‘The preparation for the station’s launch began weeks ago. The students have to do lots of research into the type of programming, topics and music tastes their target audience will appreciate. They also need to learn the practical and presentation skills required to keep a real radio station alive and appealing."

Students Natasha Granados-Stewart and Stanley Nouch would both like to work as radio presenters. Stanley said: "This project makes you realise how much work goes into producing a radio show. We have to rely on teamwork, sharing ideas and being supportive of each other.” Natasha said: "We are all committed to making it work. It is a very exciting opportunity for us and we want to make the most of it.”
Vox Radio can only be accessed through Lambeth College’s Intranet at our Centres.
