Queen Appoints Dame Lorna

By appointment to the Queen: Dame Lorna Boreland-Kelly.

Dame Lorna Boreland-Kelly, Lambeth College's Chair of Corporation, has been appointed by the Queen as one of the 16 members of the newly formed Judicial Appointments Commission which is due to start work in April 2006. The Commission takes over the job of the appointment of judges in England and Wales which was formerly the role of the Lord Chancellor. Richard Chambers, the Principal, said of this appointment, 'This is a very prestigious role, and Dame Lorna is to be congratulated on this impressive achievement'.
