Marathon Man!

Crossing the finishing line: Shaz has raised £2,000 for the Stroke Association.
April 2006
Shahzeb Choudhry (Shaz) was an excellent A Level student at Lambeth College’s Clapham Centre between 2003 and 2005. He is now studying for a Biomedical Sciences degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. Shaz is not only an academic success story but also a physical one after completing this year’s London Marathon.

He ran the marathon on 23rd April 2006 as runner no 50686 and succeeded - his finishing time was 4 hours 10 mins 18 seconds! He was running for the Stroke Association and his target is to raise £2,000 - so far he is well on target with £1,700 already collected from his supporters and sponsors.
Shaz would like to thank everyone who sponsored him and therefore supported the very worthy cause of the Stroke Association. Shaz said, "Lambeth College was a fantastic place to study with very dedicated, experienced and hard-working teachers. Now the college has shown its support in other ways and I would like to thank all those at the college who willingly sponsored me for the Marathon. It was a fantastic experience, almost impossible to describe the sheer joy of crossing the finishing line. This was my first Marathon - but despite the aches and pains I now have, I am hooked and want to do the next one as well."
