On Friday 26th May groups of school students completing the 14-16 Increased Flexibility Project at Lambeth College celebrated their successes at the Brit Oval cricket ground. College and school staff, pupils and parents gathered to congratulate the students who have been working towards vocational qualifications in Applied Art and Design, Engineering, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Construction and Motorbike Maintenance and Repair. Each student was presented with a Certificate of Achievement by the Principal of Lambeth College, Richard Chambers.

64 students from the Park Centre and Charles Edward Brooke, Dunraven, Kingsdale, Lilian Baylis and Stockwell Park High schools have been attending the College every Friday for two years and are on target to achieve a qualification in their area of study. As well as gaining a useful qualification, these students have had the opportunity to learn about life at an FE college and a vocational area that their school cannot offer. This project has allowed young people to find out if they would like to work in a particular sector and many have decided to pursue further courses in their chosen area when they leave school next year.
