Overjoyed: Kirsty and Leena celebrate their great results.
Once again Lambeth College A Level students were celebrating exam success at AS and A Level and making plans for their very bright futures. This year our overall pass rates reached 94% with 53% achieving grades A-C. We would like to congratulate our students and their tutors whose hard work led to these great results.
Meet some of the many students who got the results they were hoping for...
Kirsty Gordon (pictured above), 35, discovered she had achieved a grade A for her final Human Biology exams. What was even more impressive about her result was that she got almost 100% in her exam questions. She now plans to change career from literary agent to train as a midwife.
Leena Pandit (pictured above), 28, is very pleased with two grade Bs in both her AS and A Level Human Biology result which she achieved in just one year. Leena is now heading for Aberdeen University to study Medicine. She then intends to train as a doctor.
Luke Lawar, (above) 18, received grade Bs in his Drama and Sociology AS Level exams. Says Luke: "I'm so relieved that I've done well this year. I hope to go on and do as well, if not better, next year when I take my full A Level exams. I would then like to go to university to study Drama."
Tom Halloran (right), 19, received a grade A in Sociology, a B in Media and D in Psychology. Though he intends to go to university next year to study Film and Television, he is now taking a gap year to work abroad. He says: "I've had a brilliant time at Lambeth College. The College is so friendly and the tutors are very good indeed. I came here after attending another college. I didn't like it there at all. It was as though you were merely a number to them. At Lambeth you are treated like an individual and supported all the way. I now aim to go and earn a bit of money - probably in a hot country before I return and go to university."
Mahomed Omar (left), 18, from Streatham got C grades in his History, Government and Politcs and Sociology A Levels. He is off to Brunel University to study History and Politics. Mahomed said: "I was very nervous before opening my results. I am now very happy and relieved to know I have made it into university. I have worked very hard to get these results. Those people who say the exams have got easier should sit the exams themselves. They are not easy."
Naomi Richards (pictured below), 18 from Tulse Hill, will be starting a Law degree at Coventry University after scoring grade B in Sociology and and grades C in Law and Psychology. She said: "I cant believe it. This is so exciting. I'm looking forward to going to university so much. I would like to eventually become a family lawyer. I would like to thank my tutors so much for all they have helped me. Lambeth is great college and I wouldn't have achieved this without them."
Nafisat Oshodi (right), 18 from Croydon, got a B in Sociology and C grades in Law and Media Studies. She is also going to Coventry University to study Law and International Relations. She says: "I've really enjoyed being here. I'm so pleased to have got into university and I'm looking forward to the future. I know it's going to be hard work again from here on but it will be worth it to get a good job and an interesting career in the end."
