Ruth Griffiths from the UK Career Academy Foundation came to our Brixton Centre to launch the new Academy of Finance.

December 2005

The launch of Lambeth College’s  Academy of Finance took place on 1 December. This prestigious programme, which was first established in the USA, combines a finance-led curriculum involving visits and speakers from the world of finance, one-to-one mentoring with the Ministry of Defence, as well as offering students the opportunity of a six week paid work placement in the summer.

The launch was well attended by employers as well as representatives from the Learning and Skills council, parents, students and staff.  Ruth Griffiths from the Finance Academy outlined the many benefits of the programme.  These were endorsed by our Principal, Richard Chambers, as well as students of the Academy from Sir George Monoux College who spoke at the event.
