Virginia Nichols has drawn on the many skills learnt at Lambeth College to build a glittering career.

July 2004

Virginia Nichols has been studying Jewellery Design at Lambeth College since 2003.  She has had a number of career changes in her working life and continues to develop new skills. Following work as a secretary/PA and a nanny, Virginia returned to college and gained Beauty Therapy and Make-up Artistry qualifications. She went on to learn hair design and is now one of the UK’s leading hair and make-up artists.

Virginia’s work has appeared in top magazines such as Vogue and Maire Claire and she has built up a considerable celebrity client list, including Bruce Willis and Jessica Lang. Always keen to explore new avenues, Virginia branched out into writing.  Her commissions have included a 3-year contract with the Daily Mirror, a fortnightly page in the Sunday People, and a weekly beauty page on M Magazine. She has gone on to write health features and currently contributes to a new allergy magazine.

Whilst studying at the Vauxhall Centre, Virginia has drawn on her travel experiences, using her observation of various cultures for aesthetic inspiration.  For her latest venture Virginia has teamed up with her artist sister Amanda Lyon to form the jewellery company Lyon & Vee. Samples of their pieces have appeared in publications like Maxim, Hello! and The Financial Times Magazine.
