After months of training Charlotte Gilsenan, who runs the Prince’s Trust programme at Lambeth College, set out on 18 April to run the London Marathon’s gruelling 26.2 miles.

Charlotte said: "I had been training 3 to 4 times a week and up to 20 miles for this marathon.  However, it really began to hurt after the 20 mile mark and I think I hit what they call 'the wall'.  I'm very pleased with my time of 4 hours and 9 minutes. I would like to thank everyone who sponsored and supported me."

Charlotte raised over £1000 for Charterhouse, a local charity.  As well as housing the London Bridge Prince’s Trust programme, Charterhouse deliver crime prevention programmes, after-school clubs, youth projects and various other services for local people in Southwark.
