Leo at the Coffee Gallery
March 2004
Leo, a student in his second year on the Return to Learning Programme (for people living with and recovering from Mental Health Problems) at Lambeth College, is exhibiting his work in a one-man show at the Coffee Gallery in central London. He specialises in portraiture - people and pets. Leo is undoubtedly a very talented painter and is already at a professional standard in many respects.
Leo showed a great deal of talent from the word go. He seems to have discovered his artistic gift only now, having not 'done art' since school. He has made enormous progress during the period he has been attending college. During our end of year exhibition his work was high-lighted. Since then, he has starting studying painting at another college and has undertaken several commissions. Leo is also the Student Representative for the Return to Learning classes.
Leo has found being a student at Lambeth College a really useful source of encouragement and the atmosphere non-judgemental and relaxed.
