A great time had by all: Peter and fellow students celebrate their time at Lambeth College at a special celebration held at the Marriott Hotel.

May 2004

Every Friday for the last two years, 50 school students have been attending the Vauxhall Centre of Lambeth College to study for qualifications in Engineering, Construction and Applied Art & Design. The College arranged a leaving event to mark the point at which formal teaching for these courses came to an end.

The event took place at the Marriott Hotel on 7 May.  Following a buffet lunch Peter Harris, Assistant Principal at the Vauxhall Centre, presented the students with certificates and congratulated them on their achievements. The event was attended by tutors, staff from the partner schools and Farquhar McKay, a representative from the Learning and Skills Council.

These students started at the College in September 2002, when they were 14. They are now 16 and about to leave school.  The experience they have had at college has proved invaluable. Not only will they have a useful qualification under their belt, they are now in a better position to decide on their next step in education or training. A number of these students have opted to return to Lambeth College after the summer break to take their studies further.
