Celebrating Cultures

The Celebration of Cultures event took place in Brixton Centre on the 2 July. This event is in its fourth year and gives students the opportunity to share their skills and talents. This year we had singers from Cameroon, Congo, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador and Syria. Charlotte from Cote d'Ivoire demonstrated how to tie West African geles (headties). Asmahan from Syria gave a demonstration of Arabic dancing. Food was brought in by the students. The dishes were from Iran, Eritrea, Congo, Ivory Coast and Portugal.
