July 2004

Maike Freitag has just successfully completed a City and Guilds 7500 Level 3 Video Production Techniques Diploma at Lambeth College.  She’s also won a SKILLSET Millennium Media Award, sponsored by the BBC.  This was presented at a ceremony at the Royal Society of Arts in July.

Maike gained distinctions in most of the C&G Television Units on the course and demonstrated excellent production skills.  She used these skills to make a documentary about the German community based in London called 'London Krauts'. The production was incorporated as a digital video project for both the SKILLSET- BBC Millennium Media Award and the City & Guilds 7500 Media course.

As an award winner Maike has been offered a BBC digital video camera & film skills training course plus a two-week placement at BBC Bristol Natural History Unit.
